Archer Malmo is more than an agency with some retail accounts. We’ve spent 30+ years navigating the unique challenges of franchisor/franchisee relationships, and we’ve implemented plans in over a thousand retail locations along the way — plans that align with both corporate-level strategies and local-level realities.

In 2013, we introduced AM Retail. Not a separate entity, but an in-house team of thinkers, planners, analysts and creators who specialize in work that moves customers and moves needles. It’s a team that knows its way around a P&L report, and understands concepts like lifetime value, retention, reactivation and rewards program management.

AM Retail actually began as the in-house marketing department for the largest franchisee of an iconic national franchise brand. So while we understand the complex needs of multi-unit franchised brands, we’ve also experienced the breakneck pace at which they often need it.

It’s why we designed a workflow — including a production studio of retail-dedicated designers, writers, media planners and developers — that delivers speed and efficiency at high volume, but all with the focus and attention of an agency that’s put brand strategy and creative craft at the top of our priority list for over 65 years.

In other words, we’re comfortable in the trenches. And adept at creating work that doesn’t look like it was made in, you know, the trenches.

Focused on multi-unit franchised brands, he draws on his experience as a franchisee and operator to enhance local market performance for brands in personal services, restaurant and specialty retail chains.

    Rob Hoerter

    VP, Account Director

    Rob leads multiple account teams within the Retail Division providing strategic direction and managing client relationships. In his more than 20-year career in marketing, he has experience working with multi-unit franchise brands and in the gaming, higher education and sports industries. Rob holds an MBA from the University of Memphis.
